150N EAST COAST

The Heritage

Home to a young family, the terrace house is in midst of neighborhood with colorful front façade. It produces a vibe of very authentic past influence of French and colonial style that fits into the local community.

Wanting to keep some of old charm like the mosaic finishes that clad the balustrade and floor, the timber truss that tapers to a vertical slant creating a high ceiling and long hanging fans; Spiral staircase that goes up to the roof top and faded wall covering along the stairway.

However, designing with a twist of modernism in spacing planning. Breaking down the walls and bringing in brightness by creating a skylight between the living and dining. Painting the heavy looking timber structures in children’s room with light shades of colors. And making the Master bedroom a very open concept with no doors to the space right thru to the bathroom.

The finale is a lively, warm contrast keeping the charm.
