Japan
As challenging as it would be in Japan, this apartment in Singapore faces similar challenges. In creating multiple functions in small space. The space requires a SOHO home office concept. Influenced by the love for Japan, the design concept was to create a Japanese look & feel.
Putting on the hat of Japanese culture, several features that is both aesthetic, functional and typical of a Japanese environment is designed. Firstly, a tea corner is set up. With automated transformation of table to a lying position and dining table position that has convertible seating, it converts from a meeting area for clients in the day and a relaxing seat to watch Television program. The hidden TV is also part of a ledge console in the same area.
The 2 Bedrooms are designed to be privately used with sliding panels and flexible to become one big room when they have stay in visiting guests. The panelled sliding doors is wall covered with familiar Mt. Fuji images and sceneries.
The display of files and catalogues are behind hidden door panels that camouflaged with design. The overall is space saving and neat with some smart technology.
